In his speech, Mayor Yemi praised Smith's work with OneBody ENT as a shining example of how one individual can bring about profound change in a community. The Spirit of the Springs Award is given by the Mayor's Office to exceptional individuals within Colorado Springs who serve as inspirational leaders. Smith's organization, OneBody ENT, includes two sub-organizations - Men of Influence and Women of Impact. Together, they have been instrumental in promoting positive change and unity in Southeast Colorado Springs. Their mission is to serve youth and adults by providing resources and support to prevent criminal offenses and re-offenses.
OneBody ENT offers various initiatives such as community outreach, education, mentorship, violence interruption, performing arts, entertainment, and social gatherings. These activities provide positive outlets for individuals to engage in wholesome activities and surround themselves with like-minded peers.
The K Land neighborhood has been particularly impacted by OneBody ENT's efforts. Through their work, they have created a brighter future for many residents in this area. The greater Colorado Springs community has also benefited from their initiatives.
