~ Colorado Springs Mayor Yemi Mobolade has been actively working with government officials at all levels to advocate for the needs of the city and secure support through collaboration. In a recent phone call, Mayor Yemi spoke with White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs Deputy Chief of Staff Christina Serrano Glassner, who previously served as the Mayor of Mendham, New Jersey.
During the call, Mayor Yemi highlighted Colorado Springs' strong military presence and emphasized the city's support for public safety and infrastructure. He also expressed alignment with the Trump Administration's efforts to balance the budget and create efficiencies within government. The White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs serves as a liaison between the White House and state, county, local, and tribal governments.
Mayor Yemi is expected to meet with the Director of the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs during next month's National League of Cities (NLC) Congressional Cities Conference. This conference provides an opportunity for city leaders to engage in productive dialogue with federal government partners and ensure that Colorado Springs has the necessary resources to keep up with its growing demands.
