COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Colorado Springs Airport (COS) had 195,364 total passengers travel in and out the airport for the month of August. Enplanements were up 1.7 percent compared to August 2021, but up 25.9 percent compared to August 2019 at pre-COVID levels.
For the month of August, COS had 125,018 seats in the market, just slightly below seats in August 2021, but up 30.9 percent compared to August 2019. The load factor for August of this year was up 5.5 percent, averaging 78.3 percent between all five carriers.
"We have seen the Colorado Springs Airport grow alongside the community in the last year," said Greg Phillips, Director of Aviation, "and we're excited to see where that growth takes us."
Part of that growth will be Delta Air Lines' nonstop service to Atlanta (ATL) which commences June 6, 2023, at COS with access to one of the largest unserved markets at COS, as well as easy one-stop connections across the Southeast, East Coast, Florida and International destinations. Travelers can book their trips now for the route - which will fly a mainline aircraft and boast three classes. Delta's Salt Lake City (SLC) flight will also see some change on October 6, 2022, with a larger aircraft that seats 70.

Frontier Airlines announced it will discontinue service at COS effective November 4, 2022. Frontier served Las Vegas and Phoenix, however, both destinations are also served nonstop by Southwest at COS.
For upcoming holiday travel, Southwest Airlines' seasonal nonstop service returns with service to Houston Hobby (HOU), San Antonio (SAT) and San Diego (SAN) on select November, December, and January dates.
Summer Spotlight (nonstop routes):
Colorado Springs Airport's small size means small commutes, small lines, and small waits. It means friendliness, safety, and comfort. It also means big options on daily nonstop flights and hundreds of connections worldwide. Colorado's small airport was named one of the Best Workplaces for 2021 by the Gazette.
