~ The Pikes Peak Library District Board of Trustees is seeking new members to join their governing board. The Colorado Springs City Council and the El Paso County Board of Commissioners have announced an upcoming vacancy on the board, with the term set to begin on January 1, 2026.
According to a joint committee of the two governing bodies, community-minded citizens are encouraged to apply for this volunteer position. The Board of Trustees is made up of seven members who are limited to two five-year terms. It is a non-remunerated role and applicants must reside within the Library District's service area.
The responsibilities of a trustee include attending regular board and committee meetings, adhering to bylaws, acting as a liaison for the community, appointing and evaluating the Chief Executive Officer, setting policies, conducting strategic planning duties, and reviewing and approving the annual budget.

Applicants should note that this position has a different application process than other openings listed on the website. To apply, individuals must download and complete a volunteer application and submit it along with their resume via email to volunteer@elpasoco.com or fax it to 719-520-6397. Alternatively, they can mail it to El Paso County Commissioners' Office at 200 South Cascade Avenue, Suite 100 in Colorado Springs.
