However, a few facilities will remain open on Tuesday. These include Fairview and Evergreen cemeteries (with gates open but offices closed), Patty Jewett Golf Course, Pikes Peak Highway (with free admission for active and retired military with ID on Monday), Sertich Ice Center, and Valley Hi Golf Course.
In addition to these closures and openings on Veterans Day itself, the city is also preparing for the In Their Honor Veterans Day Parade on Saturday November 8th. The parade will take place in downtown Colorado Springs starting at 11am. The event is free and open to the public with attendees encouraged to park in public parking garages. As we take time to honor our veterans this week in Colorado Springs and across the country, let us also remember their sacrifices and contributions to our nation's freedom.
