COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Chutes Trail in North Cheyenne Cañon Park will be closed starting Tuesday, Oct. 8 to finalize its conversion from a multi-use, bi-directional trail to a dedicated downhill mountain bike trail. Construction is anticipated to be complete by the week of Oct. 22, weather dependent.
Ladders Trail, which has been connected to Gold Camp Road, will remain open to provide users the necessary connections from Stratton Open Space to Gold Camp Road. Trail users may encounter construction equipment during the project.
The reroute includes approximately 1,600 linear feet of new trail that will provide technical, rocky trail features with ramps, drops and berms. The new upper section will drop from Gold Camp Road and end at the intersection with the Chamberlain Trail, located between the Gold Camp and Mesa reservoirs.
