DENVER ~ Governor Jared Polis of Colorado has released a statement in honor of Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. In his statement, Governor Polis emphasized the importance of celebrating, remembering, and reflecting on this historic day. He also acknowledged that freedom delayed is freedom denied and urged Coloradans to honor the generations of Black Coloradans who have contributed to the state's communities, culture, and history.
