Colorado: Governor Polis Appoints Ryan L. Hess to the Montrose County Court in the 7th Judicial District

DENVER ~ In a move to fill a vacancy in the Montrose County Court, Governor Polis has appointed Ryan L. Hess as the newest judge in the 7th Judicial District. The appointment comes after the Honorable Laura E.H. Harvell was appointed to the 7th Judicial District Court, leaving a vacant spot on the county court bench.

Mr. Hess brings a wealth of legal experience to his new role, having previously served as a Detective for the Montrose Police Department and as a Deputy District Attorney in the 7th Judicial District. He also has experience in civil, family, and estate law through his own practice at the Law Office of R.L. Hess.

Prior to his legal career, Mr. Hess served as Mayor for the City of Craig and as a Council Member for two years. He also owns Ryan Hess Mediation, showcasing his dedication to alternative dispute resolution.

A graduate of Colorado Mesa University with a B.A., Mr. Hess went on to earn his J.D. from Purdue Global Law School in 2020. His appointment is effective immediately and he is ready to serve the community in his new role as judge at Montrose County Court.
