~ Colorado Springs, CO - As part of the City's intersection safety project, Garden of the Gods Road will experience lane reductions this week. The project, which is expected to be completed by late March, aims to improve safety at two intersections by installing new traffic signal poles.
Starting on Tuesday, March 3, eastbound traffic on Garden of the Gods Road will be reduced to one lane near Mark Dabling Boulevard and Northpark Drive. Crews will be working on the south side of the intersections to install new poles. The following day, Wednesday, March 4, westbound traffic will also be narrowed down to one lane as crews work on the north sides of the intersections. Motorists are advised to use caution while driving in this area due to heavy equipment and workers on foot.

To avoid potential travel delays, drivers may want to consider taking alternative routes if possible. The median and intersection improvement project on Garden of the Gods Road began in October and is estimated to cost $1.96 million. Funding for the project comes from a combination of sources including the Colorado Department of Transportation and a local contribution from the Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority.
