Colorado: Governor Polis Appoints Michael W. V. Angel to the 2nd Judicial District Court

DENVER ~ In a recent announcement, Governor Polis has appointed Michael W. V. Angel to the 2nd Judicial District Court in Denver. This appointment comes after the unfortunate passing of the Honorable Christine C. Antoun and is effective immediately.

Mr. Angel brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served as a Magistrate in the 17th Judicial District since 2023. His primary focus has been on handling criminal cases. Prior to this, he held positions as a Senior Assistant Attorney General and Assistant Attorney General in the Colorado Attorney General's Office from 2016 to 2023.

His legal career also includes serving as a Senior Deputy District Attorney and Deputy District Attorney in the 18th Judicial District from 2012 to 2016, as well as holding positions in the 5th Judicial District and at The LANS Corp.

Mr. Angel received his B.A. from Miami University in 2002 and his J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law in 2005. With his extensive background and qualifications, he is well-equipped to serve on the 2nd Judicial District Court and uphold justice for the community.
