Colorado: Governor Polis Appoints James R. Bullock as District Attorney for the 16th Judicial District

DENVER ~ In a move to fill a vacancy in the 16th Judicial District, Governor Polis has appointed James R. Bullock as the new District Attorney. The appointment, effective April 13, 2024, comes after the previous District Attorney, William J. Culver, was appointed to the Otero County Court.

Bullock brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served as the Assistant District Attorney for the 16th Judicial District since 2021. His practice primarily focuses on criminal prosecution. Prior to this appointment, Bullock served as the elected District Attorney for the same district from 2012 to 2021.

With over three decades of legal experience under his belt, Bullock has also worked as a partner at Lefferdink and Bullock Law Firm and as an associate attorney at Lefferdink and Davis Law Firm. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Northern Colorado and a Juris Doctor degree from Gonzaga University.
