Featuring World-Renowned Pianist Frederic Chiu in a Unique, Interactive Ballet Experience
BROOMFIELD, Colo. - ColoradoDesk -- BROOMFIELD, CO – The Colorado Conservatory of Dance (CCD) proudly announces its groundbreaking spring production, Romeo and Juliet – The Choice, an immersive and interactive ballet experience featuring the rare solo piano score of Sergei Prokofiev, performed live by world-renowned pianist Frederic Chiu. This innovative production blends dance, digital media, and audience participation to create a one-of-a-kind theatrical experience that challenges historical and artistic interpretations of this timeless story.
Unlike traditional renditions of Romeo and Juliet, CCD's The Choice offers audiences the power to determine the story's ending. Inspired by Prokofiev's original 1936 draft of the ballet—which included a different ending where Juliet awakens before Romeo's tragic demise—this production invites viewers to vote on whether they wish to see Prokofiev's rarely performed alternative conclusion or the well-known tragic finale.
