DENVER ~ In a recent announcement, Governor Jared Polis and Lt. Governor Dianne Primavera expressed their gratitude towards Colorado Community College Chancellor Joe Garcia for his dedicated service. The Chancellor has announced his planned retirement, which will be effective on June 30th, 2025.

The State Board of Community Colleges and Occupational Education has announced its intention to appoint Diane Duffy as Interim Chancellor effective July 1st, 2025. Duffy currently serves as the Executive Vice Chancellor and Chief Strategy Officer of CCCS. The Board expressed confidence in her ability to continue the legacy of excellence set by Chancellor Garcia and lead the community college system towards continued success.
