~ Colorado Springs, CO - As the 2025 General Municipal Election approaches, registered voters in Colorado Springs can expect to receive their ballots in the mail on Friday, March 7. The deadline for all ballots to be returned is 7 p.m. on election day, April 1, 2025. This election will determine the six district City Council seats, with each voter receiving a ballot containing only the District City Council race for their specific area of town based on current City Council District Boundary lines.
According to City Clerk Sarah Johnson, the role of City Councilmembers is crucial in making decisions that directly impact residents. However, in previous elections, less than a third of registered voters have returned their ballots. To encourage more participation, Johnson urges voters to take advantage of the 28 secure drop-off locations across the city and make use of the new virtual ballot tracking tool.
For the first time, residents will be able to track the status of their ballot by providing their full name, birthdate and zip code on ColoradoSprings.gov/VoterInfo. This tool will inform them if their ballot has been mailed or if their vote has been received. Residents can also register and vote up until election day.
