HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. - ColoradoDesk -- Sertoma International is pleased to welcome Cindy Markham, of Highlands Ranch, Colo., is the 2025-2026 International President effective July 1, 2025. This marks the culmination of a three-year journey through Sertoma's international leadership progression.

Markham joined Sertoma International in 2012 and quickly distinguished herself as a dedicated and impactful leader. As a founding charter member of the Southglenn Sertoma Club, she has demonstrated a deep commitment to service, taking on numerous leadership roles throughout the years. Her contributions have left a lasting mark on the club and the broader community. She served as Club President during the 2021–2022 term and has continued her leadership as Club Secretary since 2023.

At the international level, Markham has built an impressive record of service and leadership. She has held several key positions, including International Director At Large and District Governor, and has volunteered her time on the International Policy Committee, the Communications Task Force, and as a presenter at numerous regional and international conventions. Her dedication and impact have been recognized through multiple honors, including the prestigious Sertoma Mentor Award and two Club Service Awards.

Markham has selected "Planting Sertoma Seeds" as the central message for her presidential term. Inspired by her mother, an avid gardener, she draws a meaningful parallel: just as a seed requires care, attention, and the right conditions to grow, so too does an organization. Markham aims to encourage her fellow Sertomans to cultivate strong relationships and service opportunities, helping clubs—and the organization as a whole—flourish and thrive.

"As I reflect on the year before me, I am reminded of my humble start. My Sertoma journey started with a conversation, and before I knew it, a beautiful love had grown between Sertoma and me," Markham said. "I am inspired by the words of Ghandi, 'Be the change you want to see in the world.' I hope my fellow members will join me in planting these seeds of change."
