Colorado Springs: City Council Invites Community Engagement: Serve on the Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Services Advisory Board

~ The City Council of Colorado Springs is currently seeking applications for volunteer positions as Alternate Members for the Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Services Advisory Board. This opportunity allows community members to play an active role in the development and maintenance of public parks, playgrounds, urban forests, recreation facilities, and resources including golf courses and cemeteries.

According to the City Council's press release, members of the Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Services Advisory Board are appointed by the council for a term of three years. However, if filling an unexpired vacancy, the term may be shorter. The board's responsibilities include reviewing matters related to planning, development, improvement, beautification, equipping and maintenance of various public spaces within the city.

Interested applicants must reside within the city limits of Colorado Springs and have a passion for enhancing the community's park systems. The board meets on the second Thursday of every month at 7:30 a.m.

Currently, there are three vacancies for Alternate Members on the board.
