The Executive Order aims to build upon these efforts by ensuring that state agencies are working together to meet learners and earners where they are. This includes helping individuals obtain meaningful jobs and supporting them throughout their careers.

Governor Polis stated that this collaboration will focus on developing recommendations to seamlessly integrate postsecondary education, skills attainment, and training strategies. The goal is to improve flexibility and permeability within the system while future-proofing talent development through adaptive and efficient strategies.

Additionally, efforts will be made to enhance navigation through the postsecondary talent development system for learners, employers, community members, and state agencies. The Executive Order also aims to increase postsecondary credential attainment for students who historically have not pursued further education or training within six years after high school graduation.

Another important aspect is reducing bureaucratic barriers that hinder cross-functional education and training. These recommendations are expected to be completed by December 1st, 2025.

Governor Polis encourages the public to read the full Executive Order for a better understanding of the state's commitment to supporting learners and earners in Colorado. With this collaborative effort, the state hopes to continue its reputation as a leader in providing individuals with the necessary skills for success in their careers.
