DENVER ~ Denver - In a move to protect the well-being of animals used for educational purposes, Governor Polis signed HB26-1133, also known as the Traveling Animal Protection Act Environmental Education Program. The bill was sponsored by Majority Leader Monica Duran and Representative Alex Valdez, along with Senator William Lindstedt.
Under this new law, educators who use animals for educational purposes must meet certain criteria to ensure the safety and well-being of the animals. This includes providing proper care and protection while they are being used to educate Coloradans about habitats, lifestyles, and conservation.
