BOULDER ~ Boulder - Governor Polis made a visit to Mesa Quantum today to tour their laboratory and showcase Colorado's leadership in quantum innovation. The governor also took the opportunity to discuss the strength of the region's scientific workforce.
During his visit, Governor Polis expressed his excitement about Colorado being the hub for quantum technology. He stated, "I am always thrilled to meet with the innovators who are leading Colorado's quantum future. Companies like Mesa Quantum are taking groundbreaking research and turning it into tangible improvements while also creating high-quality jobs that highlight the exceptional talent of Colorado's scientific workforce."

Colorado has established itself as a national leader in quantum technology and innovation. In October 2023, the state was officially designated as a federal Regional Technology and Innovation Hub for quantum. This recognition was achieved through the efforts of private and public sector leaders, led by Elevate Quantum, in collaboration with a bipartisan coalition of state legislative leaders and the Polis Administration.
In August 2025, Governor Polis joined Elevate Quantum in celebrating the grand opening of the Quantum Commons. This is the first major building on Elevate Quantum's new campus in Arvada, which serves as the focal point of Colorado's rapidly growing quantum ecosystem. The Quantum Commons aims to bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and real-world applications.
