~ In the wake of a brutal and senseless terrorist attack against peaceful protestors, the City Council of Colorado Springs has reaffirmed its unwavering support for the State of Israel and the Jewish people. The attack, which occurred over the weekend, targeted individuals who were praying for the release of Israeli hostages.
According to City Council President Lynette Crow-Iverson and President Pro Tem Brian Risley, the council stands united in condemning this heinous act of hate. The eight victims, ranging in age from 52 to 88, suffered serious burn injuries and were deliberately targeted for standing in solidarity with the families of hostages. Fortunately, no lives were lost in the attack.
The council members expressed their prayers for the victims as they begin their journey towards recovery. They also emphasized that this attack could have been prevented if proper measures had been taken. The perpetrator, Mohamad Soliman, had been living in the United States illegally since August 2022.
