~ The Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum (CSPM) is proud to announce the opening of their newest permanent exhibition, Until Forever Comes: This is Ute Homeland. The exhibit, which will open on June 12, 2025, is the result of five years of collaboration and consultation with the Southern Ute Indian Tribe, Ute Mountain Ute Tribe, and Ute Indian Tribe of Uintah and Ouray Reservation.

According to CSPM Director, Sarah Adams, this exhibition aims to center the ongoing history and culture of the Ute People in the Pikes Peak region. "We are honored to have worked closely with our Tribal partners to bring this exhibit to life," said Adams. "It will showcase the rich heritage and traditions of the Ute People in their own words."

To celebrate the opening of Until Forever Comes, CSPM and its Tribal partners are inviting the public to an opening celebration on Thursday, June 12 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. The event will feature a variety of activities and performances throughout the day.

The celebration will kick off at 10 a.m. with an Opening Honor Song and Royalty Introductions near the gazebo on the south side of museum grounds. Guests can then test their knowledge of Ute history and culture at 11 a.m. in Division I Courtroom through interactive games.

The Until Forever Comes: This is Ute Homeland exhibit would not have been possible without the support of public and private donations, including lead contributors Lyda Hill Philanthropies, City of Colorado Springs LART, and Thomas and Alberta Meagher Legacy Fund.

This exhibition is a testament to the strong partnership between CSPM and the Ute Tribes, as well as their commitment to preserving and sharing the history and culture of the Ute People with the community. Don't miss this opportunity to learn more about Ute Homeland at CSPM's newest exhibit.
