~ In honor of National Neighbor Day on September 28th, Neighbor.com has released its fifth annual "Most Neighborly Cities in America" ranking. After taking into account factors such as charitable donations, volunteerism, crime rates, voter turnout, and population growth, Colorado Springs has claimed the top spot for 2024. This is a two-spot jump from its previous ranking in 2023.
The full list of the top ten most neighborly cities includes Madison, Wisconsin; Virginia Beach, Virginia; Des Moines, Iowa; Provo and Ogden, Utah; Rochester, New York; Seattle, Washington; Richmond, Virginia; and Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Neighbor.com conducted a survey as part of their study to determine what people consider to be "neighborly." The results showed that 60% of Americans prioritize living in a neighborly community when choosing where to live. This highlights the value people place on close-knit connections. Additionally, nearly 65% of respondents stated that they feel they can rely on their neighbors for help when needed.

Colorado Springs Mayor Yemi Mobolade expressed his pride and honor at his city being named the most neighborly in the country. He emphasized the importance of connectedness in building strong communities and highlighted the city's initiative called "1,000 Neighborhood Gatherings." The city has championed neighborliness through initiatives like "1,000 Neighborhood Gatherings," which has seen over 800 gatherings registered so far. The goal of this initiative is to combat isolation and support mental health by bringing people together in their communities.
