~ Colorado Springs Mayor Yemi Mobolade recognized 21 exceptional individuals at the annual Mayor's Young Leader Awards ceremony tonight. Among the finalists, seven winners were honored for their remarkable contributions in their respective fields and their positive impact on the Colorado Springs community.
Expressing his pride and admiration for the winners and finalists, Mayor Yemi stated, "I am deeply proud and inspired by the excellence and heart displayed by this year's winners and finalists. They represent the next generation of community-builders and changemakers whose leadership is already shaping Colorado Springs. Their work reminds us that leadership begins with presence, compassion, and courage. These winners are not just the leaders of tomorrow, they are leading us today. Together, they are helping build a city where leadership looks like service, where impact looks like inclusion, and where every voice has room to rise."

The Mayor's Young Leader Awards were established in 2015 to recognize the outstanding achievements of young professionals under the age of 40. This year's winners were selected from a pool of 21 finalists across seven categories.
The 2025 award recipients are as follows:
- Military Leaders Award: Major Matthew Johnson from the United States Army
- Technology and Sustainability: Major Kevin Cardenas from the United States Air Force
- Sports, Health and Wellness: Nicole Weis from Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience at UCCS
- Education: Jessica Wise from Colorado Springs School District 11
- Economic Impact: Trevor Terrill from EarthX
- Creative Industry: Michelle Winchell from Downtown Partnership
- Community Impact: Monique Lewis from Care and Share Food Bank
