DENVER ~ Last week, the city of Denver played host to the 2026 National Lieutenant Governors Association's (NLGA) Annual Meeting. The three-day event was organized by Lt. Governor Dianne Primavera and brought together lieutenant governors from all over the country, Tribal leaders, and representatives from both public and private sectors.

During the meeting, attendees were treated to a variety of programming that showcased the best of what Colorado has to offer. Lt. Governor Primavera expressed her excitement at being able to showcase her home state and its accomplishments in collaboration with government, industry, and community partners.

"Hosting this meeting gave us the chance to show the rest of the country what we already know here in Colorado - that when we work together, we can achieve great things," said Lt. Governor Primavera.

The opening plenary on Wednesday was graced by Colorado Governor Jared Polis who emphasized the bipartisan spirit that guides both his and Lt. Governor Primavera's approach to governing.

Throughout the week, discussions revolved around a diverse range of topics such as accessibility and outdoor recreation, Colorado's aerospace & defense community, healthcare innovation, Tribal sovereignty and government-to-government relationships, housing, aging, and national service. The meeting also served as a celebration of America's 250th anniversary and Colorado's 150th.

In addition to fruitful discussions and networking opportunities, this year's meeting also saw a change in leadership for NLGA. Kentucky Lt. Governor Jacqueline Coleman was elected as the new Chair of NLGA for a one-year term, taking over from South Carolina Lt. Governor Pamela Evette.

"I am so thankful to Lt. Gov. Primavera and her team for hosting the 2026 NLGA Annual Meeting in Denver," said Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman. "This meeting has been extra special to me as I was elected as the new chair for NLGA this week."

Lt. Gov. Coleman also praised the hospitality of the people of Colorado, stating that they gave her home state of Kentucky a run for their money.
