NORTHERN COLORADO ~ Governor Polis of Colorado made a visit to Northern Colorado today, where he met with volunteers at Habitat for Humanity of the St. Vrain Valley. The purpose of his visit was to highlight the state's commitment to providing affordable housing for its residents. During his time in Northern Colorado, Governor Polis also attended the Weld County Fair.
At Habitat for Humanity, Governor Polis expressed his gratitude towards the volunteers who are working tirelessly to build homes that are within reach for Coloradans in Longmont. He praised the organization for their efforts in strengthening communities and providing safe homes for families. The governor also emphasized the importance of hands-on work in addressing the housing crisis in Colorado.
Established in 1988, Habitat for Humanity of the St. Vrain Valley partners with low-income families to help them achieve their dream of homeownership. The organization serves communities within the St. Vrain Valley School District and Estes Valley, building and preserving homes in Longmont, Dacono, and Estes Park. With the help of volunteers, partners, and local businesses, Habitat is able to keep costs low by contributing labor and materials.

In addition to his visit at Habitat for Humanity, Governor Polis also made a stop at the Weld County Fair. He took the opportunity to meet with local vendors and residents while celebrating Colorado's strong agricultural roots. The governor was joined by local leaders during his time at the fair.
Reflecting on his experience at the fair, Governor Polis expressed his enjoyment in witnessing fierce competition at the poultry showing and engaging in conversations with local vendors. He commended the fair for showcasing Colorado agriculture at its best and had a special meeting with State FFA president and youth leaders who represent the future of Colorado's agriculture community.
