~ The City of Colorado Springs has announced plans to temporarily close Las Vegas Street and Hancock Expressway under the Circle Drive Bridges. According to city officials, the closures will begin on Sunday, August 10 in the evening and will last until just after noon on Monday, August 11.
The purpose of these closures is to allow construction crews to pour concrete decking on the westbound Circle Drive Bridge. However, it should be noted that weather conditions and other construction delays may alter the specific dates and times of the closures.
For those who typically use Las Vegas Street and Hancock Expressway, detour information has been provided by the city. Northbound travelers are advised to use Highway 85 North/Venetucci Boulevard to access alternative routes, while southbound traffic can utilize Janitell Road to find alternative routes via Circle Drive.
