~ On the night of September 28, 2025, tragedy struck on the MLK bypass and Circle Drive in Colorado Springs. The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) received a call for service regarding a possible head-on traffic crash at approximately 11:35 PM.
Upon arrival, responding officers found two vehicles involved in the crash just east of Circle Drive on the MLK overpass. Sadly, one of the drivers, an adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver, also a male, was transported to a local hospital in serious but stable condition.
Due to the severity of the crash, the CSPD Major Crash Team was called to investigate. Initial findings suggest that alcohol may have played a role in causing this tragic incident.

This fatal crash marks the 44th traffic fatality in Colorado Springs this year alone. Comparatively, at this time last year there were only 40 traffic fatalities recorded. In the past year alone, there have been a total of 54 traffic fatalities in Colorado Springs.
