Colorado Springs Airport Welcomes Two New Assistant Directors

~ Colorado Springs Airport (COS) has recently announced the addition of two new members to their leadership team. Jim Lovewell and Alex Kovacs MBA, C.M., C.A.E have been appointed as Assistant Directors, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to the airport.

Lovewell will be taking on the role of Assistant Director of Airline Affairs, Marketing & Communications. In this position, he will oversee the Marketing and Communications as well as Air Service departments. With his extensive background in aviation projects and operations, Lovewell is well-equipped to support the airport's growth and development.

Kovacs will be filling the role of Assistant Director of Construction and Finance. He brings with him a wealth of aviation experience, having served in various roles at Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority for 16 years. In his previous positions, Kovacs was responsible for finance, budget, and risk management. He is also a Certified Member (C.M.) of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE).

Greg Phillips, Director of Aviation for COS, expressed his excitement about the new additions to their team. "Jim and Alex are great additions to an already stellar team," he said. "As the airport grows, adding these two key roles will support our ability to manage that growth effectively."

Lovewell joins COS from the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce and EDC where he served as Chief Operating Officer. He also retired from the Air Force after 24 years of service.

Both Lovewell and Kovacs will be joining Brett Miller, Assistant Director of Aviation for Operations & Maintenance, in supporting the growth and development at COS.
