TELLER COUNTY ~ In a statement released by Governor Jared Polis, he expressed his relief and gratitude for the successful rescue of 12 individuals who were trapped in the Mollie Kathleen Mine in Teller County. The incident, which resulted in the loss of one individual, has brought deep condolences to their family and friends.
The governor extended his thanks to Teller County and Sheriff Mikesell, as well as other law enforcement and first responders from local and state government for their swift response and tireless efforts. He specifically acknowledged the Department of Natural Resources, the Department of Labor and Employment, and the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management for their collaborative efforts.
