DENVER ~ Denver, CO - Governor Jared Polis kicked off the first annual trip of the Winter Park Express this morning, sending off eager skiers to hit the slopes without having to deal with mountain traffic. The Winter Park Express, a passenger rail service, has been hailed as a national model for providing affordable and safe transportation options.
Excitement filled the air as Governor Polis addressed the crowd before the train's departure. "All aboard the Winter Park Express!" he exclaimed. "With fares cheaper than ever, there's no better time to try out this convenient and easy ride. It's truly a testament to how passenger rail can help us reach our desired destinations while saving time and money, and reducing traffic and pollution on our highways."
The Winter Park Express has seen a surge in popularity since its expansion last year, with sales already up by more than 20%. CDOT Executive Director Shoshana Lew expressed her enthusiasm for the train's continued success. "In our second season of expanded service and lower fares, people's excitement for the train is only growing," she stated. "It's a comfortable and convenient option for those looking to hit the slopes without having to deal with the hassle of driving."
