The governor, who has personally met with Vizguerra, emphasized her contributions to the community as a mother and grandmother who has lived in the country for decades.

According to Polis, Vizguerra has no history of violence and does not pose a threat to society. He believes that she deserves to be treated fairly and given due process under the law. The governor also urged President Trump and ICE to focus their efforts on violent offenders rather than targeting individuals like Vizguerra.

Polis also expressed concern over the lack of transparency from ICE regarding their operations in Colorado. He stated that the state has not been provided with any information about the cost and impact of detentions and raids, relying solely on press reports for updates on Vizguerra's apprehension.

The governor's call for transparency and due process comes as Vizguerra's case continues to garner attention and support from advocates across the country. As of now, there has been no response from the Trump administration or ICE regarding Polis' statement.
