Colorado: Governor Polis Appoints Justin P. Fay to the 6th Judicial District Court

DENVER ~ In a press release issued today, Governor Polis announced the appointment of Justin P. Fay to the 6th Judicial District Court. This decision comes after the retirement of the Honorable Suzanne F. Carlson and will be effective as of October 1, 2025.

Fay, who currently serves as an Archuleta County Court Judge in the 6th Judicial District, has been in this position since 2016. His responsibilities include presiding over both criminal and civil cases. Additionally, he also holds the positions of District Court Magistrate and Municipal Court Judge in Pagosa Springs since 2019.

Prior to his current roles, Fay worked as a Deputy District Attorney in the 6th Judicial District from 2006 to 2016. He also runs his own law firm, the Law Office of Justin P. Fay, LLC, which he established in 2017.

Fay's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree from Colorado State University in 2003 and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 2005.

With his extensive experience and qualifications, Fay is expected to serve with distinction on the 6th Judicial District Court.
