DENVER ~ Governor Polis has announced the appointment of Jessica J. Waggoner as the new District Attorney for the 7th Judicial District. This decision comes after the resignation of former District Attorney Seth Ryan and will be effective as of November 1, 2024.
Ms. Waggoner, who has been an Assistant District Attorney in the 7th Judicial District since 2008, will now take on the role of leading criminal prosecutions in the district. She brings with her a wealth of experience, having previously worked as an Associate Attorney at Wilderson, O'Hayre, Dawson & Norris, P.C. and Fleming & Kidney, LLC.

Her impressive legal background includes a B.A. from Western State College in 2000 and a J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2002. With her extensive knowledge and dedication to justice, Ms. Waggoner is well-equipped to serve as the new District Attorney for the 7th Judicial District.
