DENVER ~ In a recent statement, Colorado Governor Jared Polis expressed his support for the people of Venezuela and their right to a free and fair election. He condemned the actions of socialist dictator Nicolas Maduro, who he believes has deprived Venezuelans of their rights and stifled freedom.
Governor Polis stood in solidarity with Venezuelans across the world and called on the international community and America's allies to continue putting pressure on Venezuela's government. This comes after reports of irregularities in the recent election results.
According to exit polls, candidate Edmundo Gonzales received an overwhelming 65% of the votes, while Maduro only received 31%. These initial results do not align with the numbers reported by the National Election Council, leading many to question the accuracy of the count.
