DENVER ~ Denver, CO - The Great American State Fair on The National Mall in Washington DC was abuzz with excitement today as Colorado was awarded the prestigious title of "Best in Show State Pavilion". Governor Jared Polis proudly announced that Colorado's immersive pavilion had captured the hearts of visitors with its interactive experience, showcasing the state's natural wonders, endless adventures, and vibrant arts and culture.

According to Governor Polis, it comes as no surprise that Colorado took home the top prize. "Colorado is the best state in the nation," he stated confidently. "Our breathtaking landscapes, vibrant culture, rich history, and adrenaline-pumping outdoor recreation are unbeatable. Visitors to DC during this important milestone birthday got a glimpse of what Colorful Colorado is all about. I hope those who loved our pavilion will also choose to visit Colorado and experience our beautiful state firsthand."

The pavilion welcomed guests with an iconic "Welcome to Colorful Colorado" sign and real coniferous trees from deep within the state's forests. These elements set the stage for a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for creating memorable photo moments. The booth also featured a real ski lift inspired by Colorado's legendary mountain resorts, giving visitors a taste of the high-country experience. Families were able to enjoy a kid-friendly river paddling game, relax at a convenient recharging station, and explore a miniature Red Rocks-inspired feature – all surrounded by fresh trees that showcased the beauty of Colorado's forests.

Eve Lieberman, Executive Director of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT), expressed her pride in receiving this recognition. "Colorado's thriving tourism industry contributes $28.5 billion to our state's economy and supports over 457,000 jobs," she shared. "We're honored to receive Best in Show and showcase what makes Colorado an exceptional place to visit, live and do business."

One of the highlights of the pavilion was a smaller version of the iconic "Welcome to Colorful Colorado" sign that is displayed on the state's borders. This sign served as a reminder of the warm and welcoming communities that make Colorado such a special place.

Timothy Wolfe, Director of the Colorado Tourism Office and America 250 Colorado 150 Commissioner, also expressed his excitement at receiving this recognition. "As Colorado celebrates 150 years of statehood alongside America's 250th anniversary, we're honored to receive Best in Show," he said. "This recognition reflects the stories, landscapes, welcoming communities and unforgettable experiences that make Colorado special. We hope our exhibit inspires visitors from across the country to discover Colorado for themselves."

Visitors to the pavilion were seen enjoying the interactive elements of the exhibit, with one young family even taking part in a canoeing activity. The immersive experience provided by Colorado's pavilion left a lasting impression on all who visited, showcasing why it truly is the Best in Show State Pavilion at the Great American State Fair.
