The promise fits in six words: Everything upfront. Plain language. Just surveys.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - ColoradoDesk -- The email says "can you put together a quick survey?" and now it is your job. You already have a real job, and this is not it. Candor, survey software from Golden Hills Software, was built for exactly this person. It is available now at usecandor.app, and the first survey is free.
Candor is survey software for people who don't do this every day: plain language throughout, and the whole experience available in 45 languages, so a person can build and run a survey in the language they think in.
Before you give a tool an afternoon, you want to know what it costs. Every Candor price is on the website: $30 a month, or $300 a year with two months free. Academic, nonprofit, and homeschool pricing is $20 a month or $200 a year, applied automatically. The first survey is free, with unlimited questions and unlimited responses; it collects responses for 30 days after you publish and wears a small "Powered by Candor" badge. No credit card required.

The blank page is the first hard part. Candor starts you from one of 135 ready-made surveys — change anything, keep what fits — so the work begins with editing, not inventing.
The nervous moment comes right before you hit publish. In Candor, a survey can go to a few trusted people while it is still a draft — and their notes come back on the questions themselves, waiting in the app, with nothing to chase down. You fix what they flagged, then go live, keeping or discarding the practice answers.
"I've been building survey software since 1999, and the person I keep meeting is the one who got handed a survey on top of a full-time job," said Chuck Boudreau, founder of Golden Hills Software. "So we set out to make the hard parts easy. We created Candor for people whose real job isn't making surveys — but who need to create great ones."
When the answers start arriving, Circles lets you invite the people who need your results, and they see them live, as responses arrive — only the surveys you've chosen to share. Everyone in a Circle subscribes by the year, the person who creates it and everyone they add.
