CARLSBAD, Calif., Feb. 7, 2024 ~ As the world celebrates Global School Play Day on February 7th, 24 Hour Fitness is taking their commitment to health and fitness to the next level. The renowned fitness company, with a 40-year history of promoting wellness, is driving volunteer service for their staff in a single day to support this important cause.
Team members from 24 Hour Fitness locations in Denver, Los Angeles, Portland, and the Bay Area will be joining forces with Playworks staff at local schools to encourage children to engage in active play. Playworks, an organization dedicated to promoting physical activity and social-emotional development among students, will be providing expert curriculum for the day's activities.
According to recent studies, children today engage in active play 50% less than their parents did. This lack of physical activity can lead to chronic health conditions and lower levels of mental and emotional resilience. By engaging in organized and directed play, children can not only improve their physical health but also develop important life skills.
