DENVER ~ Denver - In a joint effort, Governor Jared Polis, the Department of Local Affairs (DOLA), and the Governor's Office of Information Technology (OIT) have launched a new pilot program called the Colorado Property Tax Map. This innovative map aims to provide Coloradans with a centralized and reliable source to estimate property taxes and view statewide taxing jurisdictions and boundaries.
The first-of-its-kind map aggregates data from local governments and displays historical taxing, parcel, and levy information in a user-friendly manner. This will add context and clarity to a subject that is often confusing for many people. The launch of this map comes just shy of a year since the landmark property tax deal was passed during last legislative session, which aimed to save Coloradans money on their property taxes.
Governor Polis expressed his excitement about the launch of this tool, stating that decreasing property taxes for all Coloradans has been one of their top priorities. He believes that the Colorado Property Tax Map will take the stress out of taxes by providing a user-friendly map that removes guesswork for residents.

The map also serves as a valuable resource for last year's property tax information. It gives property owners and other interested parties a clear picture of their property's value, taxing jurisdictions, and mill levies from the previous year.
Maria De Cambra, DOLA's Executive Director, shared her agency's vision to work collaboratively across agencies in order to strengthen local communities. She believes that this map is an excellent example of this vision coming to fruition by adding transparency to a subject that can be confusing for many Coloradans.
State Chief Information Officer David Edinger also praised the launch of the Colorado Property Tax Map, stating that it puts the power of Geographic Information Systems directly into the hands of residents. He expressed gratitude for the joint partnership between the Governor's Office, DOLA, and OIT's GIS Coordination & Development Program in using innovative geospatial cloud technology to solve real-world problems.
The Colorado Property Tax Map is accessible from any device and does not require an account. Residents can visit https://dpt.colorado.gov/property-tax-map for more information and to access the map. A Property Tax Map Help Guide is also available at https://gis.colorado.gov/proptaxmap/?page=Help.
