NEW YORK - ColoradoDesk -- A global pandemic, the killings of George Floyd, Rayshard Brooks, Breonna Taylor, and others put the nation on notice of the pervasive and persistent health disparities and social justice inequities felt by African Americans across the world.
With a mission to address these disparities and inequities' intersectionality, the Sixth International Conference on Law Enforcement and Public Health will be held virtually March 22 – 26, 2021. With a theme of "Defying Boundaries," LEPH2021 will address complex issues surrounding partnerships and collaboration between law enforcement professionals and public health advocates, and more.
One key panel during the conference is Closing the Racial Divide in Healthcare and Policing: The Journey from Cultural Awareness to Transformative Action. Panelist includes Sheila Thorne, President/CEO, Multicultural Healthcare Marketing Group, LLC. Thorne, an international expert on global cultures and health disparities, inequities, and cultural competency and former senior marketing executive, has held rank in many of the top U.S. health marketing communications companies.
