Pueblo, Colo. ~ Pueblo, Colo. - As the Colorado State Fair approaches, Governor Jared Polis is extending a special invitation to all Coloradans to join him at the Governor's Table on September 1st in Pueblo. This unique event, built on the belief that sharing a meal with a neighbor can strengthen and connect communities, will celebrate the state's 150th anniversary.
Governor Polis expressed his excitement for this year's gathering, stating, "I look forward to the Governor's Plate as a celebration of Colorado's world-class agriculture and talented chefs. This year, we're building on that tradition for our 150th anniversary as a state with the Governor's Table because good food is even better when it's shared." He hopes that this event will bring people together to share a plate, swap stories, and celebrate the connections, people, and food that make Colorado so special.
The Governor's Table is part of the 150 Tables Across Colorado initiative in partnership with Longer Tables. Tim Jones, executive director of Longer Tables, explained that this event is designed to bring Coloradans together and create a sense of belonging within the state. "Before Colorado even became a state, our farmers, ranchers, and producers understood that coming together to exchange knowledge and share stories could build a stronger, more connected Colorado," he said.
