DENVER - ColoradoDesk -- Healing Home Group, Inc., a new nonprofit founded by burn survivor Corey Halstead, has officially

launched to support adult burn survivors after hospital discharge. The organization provides access

to transitional housing and essential post-discharge services, helping survivors and their families

rebuild their lives in a clean, safe, and emotionally supportive environment.

Corey's inspiration for starting Healing Home Group came from his own experience. In April 2024,

Corey sustained burns over 50% of his body in a car fire. After nearly four months in the hospital, he

was told by a social worker to go to a homeless shelter—despite having open wounds and needing

specialized care. That experience revealed a critical gap in the system: burn survivors are often left

without a safe place to heal once they leave the hospital.

Group. "I knew then that something had to change. Survivors need more than a hospital bed—they

need a home to recover in, a place where they feel safe, supported, and human again."

 - A pending 501(c)(3) nonprofit status

 - A working partnership with the Swedish Medical Center Burn Unit

 - Ongoing outreach to fire departments and hospital systems

 - Recent approval for a community fundraiser night with Chipotle

 - Inspirational music releases supporting the mission on Spotify and Apple Music

Healing Home Group is actively seeking donations, community partners, and volunteers. With plans

to open its first Healing Home in Colorado, the organization invites the public to get involved and

ensure no burn survivor is left behind after discharge.
