Colorado Springs: Rock Ledge Ranch to celebrate 150 years Saturday

~ As the Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site prepares to celebrate its 150-year anniversary, visitors can expect a day filled with festivities and historical demonstrations. The Sesquicentennial Birthday Celebration will take place on Saturday, June 21 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The event will feature musical performances and a special offering of crackers and milk at the Rock Ledge House for only 15 cents, paying homage to the Ranch's past. All activities are included with the standard daily admission fee.

In addition to the daytime celebration, the Ranch will also host a Sesquicentennial Barn Dance from 6 to 8:30 p.m. outside the historic home. Tickets for this event are sold separately from the daily admission.

Constructed in June of 1875, Rock Ledge Ranch has a rich history as a boarding house, school, and family homestead. Today, it serves as a living history museum located at the foot of Garden of the Gods Park. The Ranch offers various educational programs and seasonal events that aim to preserve and interpret life in the Pikes Peak region from the 1700s to early 1900s.
