COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – On Wednesday, May 26, vehicles are not allowed in Garden of the Gods Park from 5-8 a.m. during the park's first of five Early Bird Hike & Bikes this year. The events are being held on the last Wednesday of every month from May through September 2021, including May 26, June 30, July 28, Aug. 25 and Sept. 29. The park also announced the return of its optional, complimentary shuttle service, which runs during the busy summer months and begins May 29.
The shuttle loop brings visitors from the Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center to Juniper Way Loop, which connects to a trail to the Central Garden. The shuttle, which operates from 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m., also stops at the Overflow Parking Area and at Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site. Visitors can take advantage of the shuttle from May 29-31, June 5-Aug. 21 and Sept. 4-5.

During the Early Bird Hike & Bikes, visitors can park their vehicles at the Garden of the Gods Visitor and Nature Center (1805 30th Street), Garden of the Gods Trading Post (324 Beckers Lane, Manitou Springs) or in the overflow parking lot at Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site (corner of 30th Street and Gateway Road). As always, the park will remain free and open to the public. Park rules and regulations, including speed limits, apply. Also per normal park rules, skateboards and longboards are not allowed. At 8 a.m., the park will reopen to motor vehicles. Visitors will have access to accessible routes into and throughout the park, and the City permits the use of other power-driven mobility devices (OPDMD), per its OPDMD policy. Early Bird Hike & Bikes were first offered in Garden of the Gods in 2020 and received a positive response from attendees.
