~ In the early hours of October 18, 2025, a tragic traffic crash occurred at the intersection of East Fountain Boulevard and Academy Park Loop in Colorado Springs. The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) received a call for service and immediately responded to the scene.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that one of the vehicles involved had a deceased occupant. Two other occupants from the second vehicle were rushed to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Due to the severity of the crash, the CSPD Major Crash Team was called in to take over the investigation.

The following day, on October 19th, an autopsy was conducted by the El Paso Coroner's Office on the deceased female passenger. She was identified as 31-year-old Linda Michelle Regul. A photo provided by her family has been released.

This tragic incident marks the 47th traffic fatality in Colorado Springs this year alone. Comparatively, at this time last year there were only 43 fatalities reported. In total, there have been 53 fatalities in Colorado Springs within the last 365 days.

The CSPD is urging anyone with information about this crash to come forward and assist with their ongoing investigation. Our thoughts go out to all those affected by this devastating event.
