GOLDEN ~ Golden, CO - Governor Jared Polis was joined by energy leaders today to celebrate Colorado Fusion Week, a week-long event highlighting the state's leadership in fusion energy research, advanced manufacturing, and innovative energy solutions.
During the event, Governor Polis emphasized the importance of Colorado's role in advancing clean fusion energy. "Colorado Fusion Week helps boost our state's position in cutting-edge clean fusion energy," he stated. "We are building on the Letter of Intent I recently signed with Marvel Fusion while leading a state delegation to Germany, as well as with other innovative private sector leaders."
The governor also highlighted the urgency of taking action to harness and benefit from fusion energy. "For our economy to fully utilize fusion energy, we must act now," he said. "And Colorado is doing just that. We have the research institutions, talent, and innovative spirit to become the global center for fusion energy."

Governor Polis' visit to Marvel Fusion's headquarters in Munich during his delegation trip to Germany in June 2026 further solidified Colorado's commitment to fusion energy. During that trip, the State of Colorado, Marvel Fusion, and Siemens Energy signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) to strengthen transatlantic collaboration and accelerate the development and commercialization of fusion energy.
Colorado Fusion Week is hosted by Colorado Cleantech and CleanTech Alliance and showcases the work of suppliers, companies, investors, universities, policymakers, and workforce partners who are all contributing to building a robust ecosystem for launching a new industry. The event was attended by representatives from Xcimer Energy, Marvel Fusion, Horne Technology, Lowercarbon Capital, Leitmotif as well as economic leaders from across the Front Range. Prominent fusion researchers from the University of Colorado Boulder, Colorado State University and the Colorado School of Mines were also present at the event.
With its strong research institutions and innovative spirit driving advancements in clean fusion energy technology, it is clear that Colorado is well on its way to becoming a global leader in this field. Governor Polis' commitment to this cause, along with the support of various energy leaders and stakeholders, will undoubtedly propel the state towards a cleaner and more sustainable future.
