~ At a Special Meeting held on Monday, April 6th at 9:00am, the Colorado Springs City Council made an important decision to fill the vacant District 2 Seat. After a round of nominations and a single vote, Ken Casey emerged as the chosen candidate with a majority of eight votes.

Mr. Casey will now serve as the District 2 Councilmember for the partial term that expires in April of 2027. Following this twelve-month appointment, he will have the opportunity to run for re-election in the April 2027 Municipal Election for a two-year term. From then on, the District 2 seat will follow the standard four-year election cycle starting in April 2029.

The official swearing-in ceremony for Mr. Casey will take place on April 13, 2026, at the beginning of the Work Session. This appointment marks an important step in filling the vacant District 2 Seat and ensuring representation for its constituents.
