SARASOTA ~ SARASOTA - The National Lieutenant Governors Association (NLGA) in partnership with Sourcewell presented the 2026 "Government Innovators Award" to Colorado Lt. Governor Dianne Primavera yesterday. This prestigious award is given annually to a Lieutenant Governor or second-in-command in state government who has shown dedication to utilizing taxpayer dollars effectively, improving efficiencies, and implementing innovative solutions in state and territorial government.
During her acceptance speech, Lt. Governor Primavera emphasized the importance of innovation in addressing community issues and meeting the needs of those being served. She also highlighted the role of state government in positively impacting the lives of individuals across Colorado. Under the leadership of Governor Jared Polis and Lt. Governor Primavera, the state has made significant strides towards their vision of a Colorado for All through various innovative initiatives.

As the head of several key initiatives within the Office of the Lieutenant Governor, including the Colorado Commission of Indian Affairs, Office of Saving People Money on Health Care, Serve Colorado, Office of eHealth Innovation, and Aerospace and Defense, Lt. Governor Primavera has played a crucial role in driving progress and change in these areas.
In addition to receiving this prestigious award, Lt. Governor Primavera will also be hosting the 2026 NLGA Annual Meeting in Denver from July 22-24, 2026. The event will feature collaborative programming throughout the week, including celebrations for America's 250th birthday and Colorado's 150th anniversary as a state.
The NLGA Government Innovators Award recognizes Lt. Governor Primavera's commitment to innovation and her dedication to serving the people of Colorado.
