~ The City of Colorado Springs has recently been awarded two federal grants to support important infrastructure projects. These grants, totaling $11.45 million, will help the city continue to grow and thrive.

Mayor Yemi Mobolade expressed his gratitude to the federal partners and legislators for their support in securing these grants. He stated, "These grants represent a significant investment in our community's future as we strive to build a safe, economically prosperous, culturally rich, and welcoming city."

One of the grants, totaling $10.7 million, was awarded through the Defense Community Infrastructure Program. This grant will go towards a project with a total cost of $15.3 million. The project aims to study a potential replacement for the Academy Boulevard bridge over Platte Avenue.

The second grant, totaling $750,000, was received from the U.S. Department of Transportation's Bridge Investment Program. This grant will be matched with an additional $750,000 from the City's Bridge Fund. The funds will be used for construction of a new interchange into Peterson Space Force Base off U.S. Highway 24.
