~ Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services is inviting visitors to experience Garden of the Gods Park in a whole new way. In 2025, the park will be hosting several events that will provide a peaceful and eco-friendly experience for hikers, bikers, and other outdoor enthusiasts.
One of the most popular events is Motorless Morning, which will take place on Sunday, April 27. From 5 a.m. to noon, all motor vehicle access within the park will be eliminated, allowing visitors to explore the park on foot, bike, skateboard or longboard. This unique event offers a quiet and serene atmosphere for visitors to enjoy the natural beauty of this National Landmark.
For those who may need assistance getting into the park during Motorless Morning, an accessible vehicle will be available upon request. Additionally, all visitors will have access to accessible routes throughout the park. The City has also implemented its OPDMD policy, allowing for the use of other power-driven mobility devices during this event.

In addition to Motorless Morning, Garden of the Gods Park will also be hosting Early Bird Hike & Bikes on Wednesdays from May through September. These events will take place from 5-8 a.m. on May 21st, June 25th, July 23rd, August 27th and September 24th. Just like Motorless Morning, these mornings offer visitors a chance to explore the park without any motor vehicle traffic.
During both events, all park rules and regulations apply. This includes cycling speed limits and one-way traffic for all users. Visitors are reminded to follow all signage and use caution in designated slow zones.
For convenience, designated parking locations have been set up for guests during these events. These include Garden of the Gods Visitor and Nature Center (1805 30th Street), Garden of the Gods Trading Post (324 Beckers Lane in Manitou Springs), and Parking Lot 1 at Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site (corner of 30th Street and Gateway Road).
Motorless Morning was first introduced in April 2018, and Early Bird Hike & Bikes were added to the lineup in 2020. These events have become popular among visitors, providing a unique and peaceful experience in one of Colorado's most beloved parks. So mark your calendars and come explore Garden of the Gods Park without any motor vehicle traffic at these exciting events.
