Colorado Springs: Marksheffel Road to close overnight Sept. 22 - 26 for lane striping and traffic pattern changes

~ Colorado Springs - Marksheffel Road will be temporarily closed to all traffic for five nights starting on September 22nd. The closure will span from south of Stetson Hills Boulevard to north of North Carefree Circle and will take place between the hours of 7 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.

According to officials, the closure is necessary for crews to remove temporary concrete barriers, restripe the road, and implement a new lane configuration. This work is part of ongoing improvements to the Marksheffel Road corridor.

During the closure, travelers are advised to use Peterson Road as a detour between Stetson Hills Boulevard and North Carefree Circle. Access to the neighborhoods along Zircon and Graphite Drives will be available from the south at North Carefree Circle on September 22nd-24th and 26th, while access from the north at Stetson Hills Boulevard will be available on September 25th.

Additionally, the temporary traffic signal at Marksheffel Road and Zircon Drive will be removed overnight on September 24th. Barnes Road between Antelope Ridge Drive and Marksheffel Road is also set to reopen on September 25th.

However, officials warn that this schedule is subject to change depending on weather conditions.
